Cruise with 'Planitis'

The "Planitis" is a beautifully-appointed, traditional boat offering excursions to the uninhabited islands of the Marine Park. What could be nicer than sailing the clear waters of the Aegean while our crew serves you with a wonderful lunch? There will be plenty of opportunities to swim, 'dolphin watch', and enjoy a peaceful day marveling at the sights that the Marine Park has to offer. A guide on board will tell you as much, or as little, as you wish to know about the unique animal and plant species to be found in this protected environment.

Marine Park Excursion to Kyra Panagia and Psathoura

Come with us on a day out aboard the beautiful Planitis. We start the day by cruising along the coastline of Alonnisos, past the small uninhabited islands of the Marine Park before stopping for a swim at the last island and possibly the most striking, Psathoura. We will then continue to the second largest island, Kyra Panagia, which is also steeped in religious history.

Once we arrive at the beautiful Psathoura we can swim to the white sandy beach and admire the flat island that was created from an underwater volcano. Here we will have a delicious buffet lunch of Greek salad, rice salad, potato salad, cheese, ham, fresh bread, fresh fruit, wine and soft drinks. You can eat and drink as much as you want and it is all included in the price of the ticket.

After we have eaten lunch we shall continue our excursion through the Marine Park where you will have an excellent chance of seeing the protected marine life. We will then arrive at Kyra Panagia and you can choose if you would like to walk up the hill to the monastery to look at the living and working conditions of the monks, or to stay with the boat and have another cooling swim.

On the way back to Patitiri, if the sea is calm we will also be able to visit the stunning Blue Cave on Alonnisos where the water is crystal clear and glows a beautiful dark blue. We will then arrive back at Patitiri at some time between19:00 and 20:00. The trip has something for everyone, whether you would like to relax and observe the beauty of the Marine Park, or take in some of the interesting religious history.
