You head off from Patitiri port walking up the left main street of the town. You then reach the old cobbled donkey path climbing up between the island’s valleys, enjoying the great views of the Old Town.
At the end of the path you follow the road up to the old Alonnia (threshing) circles, where you will switch to a dirt road taking you down towards Yalia, a beach adorned by a lovely old windmill and an ideal place for a short swim.
Then proceed back up to join the tarmac road, and follow the fork off to Vouno, the mountain.
Walk around the mountain, pass the OTE (telecom) masts while enjoying magnificent views on to the Megali Ammos area of the island. This walk continues to a route through an olive grove which drops you down into another valley and then, following a dirt road you come further down to one of the natural springs of the island.
There, you follow a footpath giving you lovely views over Votsi that will bring you out by the Atrium hotel on the Old Town road, and finally back down to Patitiri.
